cool new shops to visit on our sim!

We have five awesome new shops on our sim that you must check out! Angie and I are going to take you on a little tour of the shops that the CTRL+SHIFT+H sim has to offer.

First up, we have the FireGOOD! mainstore, owned by Ariel Wingtips and her endless creativity. If you need explosions of any kind, launchers, spaceships, cute clothes, and of course FIRE, this is the place for you!

Next to FireGOOD!, we have Further Monday's Weather!... or not?, where you can find beautiful paper lanters, a creaky old chair, a wishy washy clothes line set, and my favorite, the OMGOTHBRELLA, with raining black cats, fire and brimstone, blood, spiders, bats, and eerie mist!

Angie and I demonstrating two of the options, it's raining cats and dogs for me; it is raining hearts for Angie.

Ron Silverspar is opening his Alternate Generation Avatars store on our sim as well. He does custom work for existing avatars or sells pre-made avatars for newbies who want to look their best from the very beginning. Ron is very noob friendly, so don't hesitate to drop him an IM at any time!

Our friend and resident misanthrope, Javi Bruhl, opened the CTRL+SHIFT+H Literary Society: Library of Literal Arts and Sciences right next to the Albatross coffee house. He is hoping to attract clients who are in need of library facilitation, argumentation, obtuse discord, and non-fashion wordsmithing. In short, he will write stuff for you. Whether you need to declare your love to someone or break up with them, Javi is your guy.

Finally, Veritas Designs features the inspired builds of our friend PT Beardmore. In his store you can find cottages, bridges, docks, and my all time favorite flower cart. PT also does custom work and promises to entertain you with his wisdom and bearded knowledge. Come visit his shop and get a free barrel plant today!

There are more stores that are in the process of setting up at the moment. More on that soon!

fishing on the moon

Did you know you can fish on the moon? It's true. Also: The moon IS made of cheese - soft goat cheese - hence our feet sinking into it.

Heeeere Fishy Fishy Fishy!!!

I love this little koi pond from Pocket Gardens.  It is so cool - very easy (especially for the decorating challenged - like me) to come up with a cute little garden scene.  Just rez sit, and have fun tormenting the fish. The basin part has option to change textures as well as the flowers.

Pocket Gardens - Castalia Basin with Koi - by Carter Denja and Stormy Aluveaux  you can get this in small or large version at Pocket Gardens.

Carter and Stormy visited our sim the other night and showed off some of her skills....check this out!  In addition to awesome garden building skills, Carter has...

walk on hands skills...

balancing skills...
(my group organization skills are lacking...check out the craziness in this photo... getting an SL group together for a photo is a bit like like herding cats oh and note the tiny little care bear hahaha!)

I have my little pocket garden set up just outside my shop in a little space where I like to sit and watch the antics  Cat and Angie's and their crazy cows.  They have a mad cow, Matilda, who roams around their yard tormenting squirrels and plotting her next escape. The other cow, the Oreo cookie colored one, just calmly stands around chomping on grass and rolling her eyes at Matilda (aka Mattie).

Come visit us - hang out, check out the Albatross coffee house in the old mill, RIDE the water wheel (that's what i like to do), ride the mad cow, swing on the swings, fish for seven seas fish and custom catches....stare at the koi.
Have fun!

League of Extraordinary Dorks Book Club - That Dang Spy Book

Tonight the league of extraordinary dorks met to discuss the book, "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" by John Le Carre. OK so I admit, this book was hard for me to read - i got about 2/3 of the way through it. Even so, the discussion was great and the costumes were awesome.  The book club meeting was held in the new League of Extraordinary Dorks Headquarters on our new sim - YAY !!!

Oops...correction - SAM awesomely led the discussion.

Coyote Pace dressed like this...demonstrating his super spy sneaking skills.

Many of the book club members came in costume, dressed as spies and displaying awesome spy skills. Here we have Samantha Kazakov and ChatBrat Pippita looking all suave in their spyness.

Here we see catalina Mistwallow desperately trying to catch up on reading... or is she also demonstrating an important spy skill?

Ariel has to take a call during the discussion...

Book Club discussion goes something like this...

Discussing the SL Book Club Experience...
So here we are as a group - hanging out and discussing the SL Book club experience. You don't have to actually READ the book to participate in our book club meetings. Costumes are optional but highly encouraged.

[20:32] Coyote Pace: thanks for your good work, Sam!
[20:32] catalina Mistwallow promises to read the book next time.
[20:32] Owly Indigo: it was a good book to read - one of the things I like about this is I am picking up books I might not otherwise pick up
[20:32] Owly Indigo: well, "read" - I read most of it
[20:33] Samantha Kazakov: yes, i love that about book clubs. i myself wouldn't have read it otherwise, and I picked the dang thing < ---- INSPIRATION FOR BLOG TITLE RIGHT THERE
[20:33] ChatBrat Pippita: yes! that's the best part of book clubs
[20:33] Ridge Andel: I have never done the book club thing before
[20:34] ChatBrat Pippita: I have carefully avoided book clubs till now
[20:34] Owly Indigo: I tried one and hated it IRL
[20:34] Owly Indigo: but I love it ISL
[20:34] catalina Mistwallow: i am in three book clubs
[20:34] catalina Mistwallow: haha i love it
[20:34] Ariel Wingtips: cat is a book club junkie
[20:34] Owly Indigo: (overachiever) begins the confession part of book club...which is always funny - it's not planned it just happens

[20:35] Ariel Wingtips: our book club

[20:35] Ariel Wingtips: is like coming to confession
[20:35] Ariel Wingtips: ... i confess...i did not finish this book
[20:35] Owly Indigo: only way more fun lol
[20:35] Ariel Wingtips: ...this book put me to sleep on many occasions

another confession...

In the end- I unveiled THE MOLE!

Owly wanted a mole too, but improvised.

Other Notable book club quotable (i think this amused me the most...just sayin...)
[20:10] Owly Indigo: I have monkey brain

Fun TImes! OK so for next month, we are reading:
Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin A. Abbott

We would love for you to join us. More info is available at the new League of Extraordinary Dorks Headquarters.
