Not just for the birds...

The Indigo Aviary is finished and it is spectacular!  You must come visit if you haven't already.  Great place to hang out.  Congratulations to Owly for being listed on the destination guide.  Yay!  We have had a lot of visitors over the past few days and it has been fun.

While catalina Mistwallow relaxes on the bench - Owly Indigo demonstrates the opposite of relaxation
Gailyana Mehler, Home Sim Resident, proves that the bird bath is not just for the birds
We were visited by a magical fairy, Grefan Miklos, who sprinkled us with fairy dust.  He also did some calculations with his nerdy magical fairy watch to determine just how many fairies and birds could fit in this aviary at one time.  He did not reveal the answer, but it is probably 42.

more visitors - and goofing off - Polly Paperclip tries out the bird bath while ChatBrat Pippita looks on
and the goose is left wondering - what are all these fairies doing on my lawn?
Stop by for a visit!  Make sure you turn on your sound - the bird chorus is lovely.

PT Rocks the Albatross

PT Beardmore had his first performance at the Albatross tonight.  PT has an awesome voice, great song selection, talented strings.  So much fun.  Here are some shots from the concert.

Sweet & New - Sweet Antidote

Wow - it has been a long time since I posted on the Home Sim blog.  We have been making some changes in our market place on the Home Sim.
heeeere fishie fishie fishie
Noena Merlin's store, Sweet Antidote has moved to an island.  In place of the old store we have a little fish pond where you can relax among the roses and torment the fish.
Cross over the bridge to find the fabulous fashions at Sweet Antidote
Noena designed a lovely new store, let me show you.... it's just right across the bridge.
Front of Sweet Antidote store - wearing ".SweetAntidote. new york - red.
Here I am posing in front of Sweet Antidote in my new dress, which you can find inside.

Here's a close up of the back - how cool is that?!?!?

Now we TOTALLY HAVE to have a formal event on the sim.  I think that maybe we should have this formal event in the INDIGO AVIARY!!! Because I have the perfect dress now.   (hint hint hint to Owly...)

HIIIIIIIII IT'S BEEN A WHILE!

So I was thinking this morning, "Dang, I don't think the Home Sim blog has been updated in a while." And that turned out to be an understatement. WOW. (blush)

There is lots of new stuff on the sim since the last post here. New stores, new residents, new events. This gives me blogging notions, especially as the bird blog is going the same update-less direction. This may or may not be a bad thing. Please reserve judgement til ... I dunno. Til sometime.

In the mean time ... have a look at what Mariko had to say about the revival of Tub Talk.

I can totally explain about the lizard porn! It's not my fault!!!

Tuesday Night on the Home Sim

yeah i know it is THURSDAY night on the home sim, but I had to share this cool poem by one of our residents...

Javi Bruhl wrote this:

It's Tuesday night on the Home Sim, a blanket of quiet incubates the commons.

One imagines Ariel scrubbing a wall stained by a battery of launchings.

One supposes Owly counting feathers found, treasures all.

One conjures Cat nosing a book, simultaneously tickling a squirrel's chin.

One figures AngieBabe spots her reflection in a gleaming pink distraction of a sort.

Some nights settle appropriately with sepia perspective.

Love IT!

Oh...and here's a photo of Thursday night on the home sim.

HI! challenge, day 17

FYI: Ariel challenged me to say hi and attempt conversation with one stranger a day in SL for 30 days and blog about it. Today is day 17. This fyi will appear at the top of each post. All photos and names of strangers are used with permission, except this time. Because I think explaining what I was trying to do would have been too confusing. Mostly for me. Names of established friends are used willy nilly!!! :-D

Ariel saw me in action tonight. We were at Atmosphere Works looking at furniture when I saw someone tp in with a cute name. It went something like this:

[09:27 PM]  Owly Indigo: hi mew ;-)
[09:27 PM]  mew Pinion: hi
[09:27 PM]  Owly Indigo: some great furniture here ;-D
[09:27 PM]  Ariel Wingtips: hi mew
[09:27 PM]  Ariel Wingtips: :)
[09:28 PM]  mew Pinion: hi!
[09:28 PM]  mew's translator: hi!
[09:28 PM]  mew Pinion: ここには初めて来たよ
[09:28 PM]  mew's translator: I first came here
[09:28 PM]  Owly Indigo: oh! my first time too ;-)
[09:29 PM]  mew Pinion: ここは素晴らしいですね
[09:29 PM]  mew's translator: This sounds great
[09:29 PM]  mew Pinion: おしゃれな家具があります
[09:29 PM]  mew's translator: There are tastefully furnished
[09:29 PM]  Owly Indigo: yes! beautiful ... and fairly low prim
[09:29 PM]  mew Pinion: はい
[09:29 PM]  mew's translator: Yes

And that's as far as we got. Small talk. From her profile:

Hi,My name is mew Pinion.
mew is my cat's name.
I hope make friends from around the world.
Thanks.

Aw!

Plus she is adorable:

Ok, see the tables in the background? The vendor sign just above them says at the bottom: "it's a simple table." I find this really really funny. Like, did I say I had higher expectations of this table!?

Here's what I learned: Oh yeah, back to learning stuff. Well ...I've never had much luck with translators in SL, you really can't get much beyond very simple small talk in my limited experience. Sigh. Sadly, for me "friends from around the world" can be in English only. :-(
