a reader's dream

This whole new sim project has been a wonderful journey, full of surprises, decisions, learning, getting to know each other better, getting to know ourselves and our skills. It does not resemble the little picture picture I had in my head when we decided to do this, but it has instead become the amazing product of four brains working together and figuring stuff out that is oh so much better than anything we had in mind in the beginning.

One of my favorite moments of this project came yesterday when we decided to work on our coffee house together. We envisioned the second floor as a cozy reading room, full of books and pillows and awesomeness. This is the future home of our SL book club. Yay for reading!

Here are some of my favorite spots:

Bookshelves, rug with books you can read, wall lined up with reading pillows for your back's comfort. :)

Gorgeous primmy set we committed to, a little bookshelf that Owly found that gives you different books when you touch it, and more books!

Reading pillows with different poses, dog not included. :P

My absolute favorite reading nook under the stairs. Angie's dog, Sombra, agrees with me.

The Old Mill Moose (decorating through Ariel's eyes)

So Angie, Cat, and Owly have been working on decorating the Mill - and it looks totally awesome - you have to see it. I just wanted to point out that I helped a little.

Now the Mill Moose can read over your shoulder.  (i have no idea if that is a moose or a deer or what - it has antlers so I will call it a moose).

setting up the coho

So we have this water mill that we are converting to a coffee house, or coho. I want to name it The Albatross. We'll see if I get my way! We spent a good part of today putting in furniture and making it look welcoming and homey. There is an especially booky level that will be a great location for the League of Extraordinary Dorks book club meetings.

One more step toward open!

it was just pretty

So I popped on my blue flannel shirt and tool belt and got to work on the shops tonight.  YAY...  The home sim market place is coming together.  This is a view from the bridge that is sort of a center piece for the market area.  There is a lot left to do, but i'm getting excited about the progress.
From the bridge here you can see the water wheel from the Mill and a few stone cottage shops.

Here's the same view on another setting.   I felt like I was in a painting or a dream with my eyes open.
YAY!

OK time to go do some dreaming with my eyes shut.

feeling like home

I have been agonizing over my parcel. I feel like I should focus more on simwide stuff, but I really want to work on my own place, of course! Over the last couple of days I set up some 2/3 rooms of the house, and it has brought me great delight. Observe:

Ska and Sehra came over for a little visit, and it was a relaxing way to end the day. Please note the awsum freebie chair that originally had red cushions that I retextured all on my own to match the sofa. Wheeee!

PARCELS!

I have been exposed to the magical world of drawing parcels. Let's hope my work in this arena isn't pants.

I am working on making a rental office / temp coho in the sky when what I really should be doing is looking at prim allocations.

Love me anyway!

Cat Discovers The Button of P O W E R

So yeah i was feeling like crap today - but this made me laugh.  That's a good thing.

So we are all still learning about how to manage a sim.  Hugs to our early adopters who bravely moved in during our ramp up.

Today we survived our first sim restart and Cat has new found super powers.  So we needed to do a quick reboot of our server.  Cat wanted to learn about estate management.  Perfect opportunity....

GEEK MOMENT: So cool!  So Emerald has the coolest feature -that i just discovered today - in the Radar - select all of the nearby avatars and click IM....YAY! Instant group chat....

so it went like this -

[14:36]  Ariel Wingtips: hey all
[14:36]  Sehra Kauffman: hiiiii
[14:36]  Ariel Wingtips: cat's gonna restart the sim
[14:36]  Ariel Wingtips: with her new found super powers
[14:37]  Ariel Wingtips: the sim will come up in 90 seconds
[14:37]  Ariel Wingtips: after she does it
[14:37]  Ariel Wingtips: so i recommend that you assume the crash position
[14:37]  Sehra Kauffman: ok, thanks so much guys :)
[14:37]  Sehra Kauffman: LOLLLL
[14:37]  Bone Mosten braces for impact
[14:37]  Sehra Kauffman: LOL
[14:38]  Ariel Wingtips: she has never done it before
[14:38]  PT Beardmore: Is braced and ready
[14:39]  PT Beardmore: lol
[14:39]  Ariel Wingtips: she is drooling over the button of power
[14:39]  Ariel Wingtips: lol
[14:39]  Sehra Kauffman: alicia used to restart bluebonnet just to interrupt one of her tennants "special time"
[14:39]  Ariel Wingtips: HAHAHA
[14:40]  Ariel Wingtips: daaaaaaaaaaang
[14:40]  Sehra Kauffman: lol
[14:40]  Ariel Wingtips: she is learning to send mesesage right now
[14:40]  Ariel Wingtips: so stay tuned

So she sends out a message like this "I have found the button of power, brace yourselves for sim restart....muhahahahaha  *Wince*"

Then she pressed....the button of power and I got the heck out of there and went shopping.

The sim came back up.  This is what Cat had to say about the experience:

[14:52]  catalina Mistwallow: i am tempted to restart again
[14:52]  catalina Mistwallow: just because i like the color of the message
[14:52]  catalina Mistwallow: hahaha

*runs and hides*

The End
